Back Home

At the Airport

We are in our third day being back home in Taiwan. God was good to us: we were able to make every connection even though we faced several delays, we didn’t have to buy another ticket for Katelin even though hers didn’t register in the computer, and we were allowed to enter the country even though our children were sick with coughs and fevers. Now we are feeling especially relaxed back in our own home again. Our apartment doesn’t seem as small as it did four months ago. We have been busy finding a place for all the goodies we returned with and ran up quite a bill at the grocery store in an effort to restock. The girls have been struggling with jet lag and being sick. Allen and I decided it was more important to let them get their rest than to try to push them into the right time zone, so we have been letting them sleep whenever they feel like it. The first day they went to sleep for the night at 1:30 in the afternoon and woke up at 1:00 the next morning. Then they took at nap from 4:00-6:00 am. Every day since then they have moved an hour or two in the right direction. The weather has been a shocker to us. I bundled the girls up in their winter coats for a trip to the doctor yesterday and Katelin came back with a rash from being overheated. It feels cold, but it is nothing like the States when the cold takes your breath away. We just met with our team and heard about some of the exciting things we missed while we were gone. It is kind of neat to come back in January after a four month absence. It is a new year and we really can have a fresh start.

Welcome Back Home, Cherry! I am happy to see God blessed your trip in such big ways.

Best wishes in healing the girls and getting on a sleep routine.
