1. Activities in the park - It doesn't really matter what time of day you go, there are always people at the park. I see people playing a sort of croquet, chess, Chinese ballroom dancing, walking the track, and just sitting.
2. Pre-work exercises - If you pass a business at the right time in the morning you get to witness business men and women lined up outside doing exercises. One person leads them. It reminds me of a school pep rally, except they are in suits and are getting pepped up for a work day instead of a home game.
3. Value Added Tax - the price you see is the price it is, except they usually give you a discount when you check out.
4. Umbrellas - It doesn't matter what the weather is like, there is always a need for an umbrella. The streets filled with both fashionable and simple umbrellas creates a neat picture.
5. Drink shops - If I could choose a place to work here it would be a drink shop. Icey drinks with various combos of fruit, and an endless variety of teas and coffees are enjoyed in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
6. Strawberries in the winter, little cucumbers, peanut butter toast, milk tea, milk ice with fruit, fantuan and showbing
7. Hair cut massages
8. Train rides by the ocean
9. Bakeries
10. Cheap overseas phone calls and picture prints
11. Hats
12. Slippers - you always take your shoes off when you go to someone's home and they will supply you with a pair of slippers

Read with enjoyment your 12 things you like about Taiwan. It has given me the idea to do the same about some of the things I love and appreciate about Ecuador where we serve.
