Youth Girls Christmas Party

On Sunday, Dec. 13th, we had a Christmas party at our apartment for the youth group girls. Maggi had brought a Christian bracelet craft where different beads stood for things like Heaven, Jesus' blood, sin, and baptism. She did a great job leading the craft and there were several girls who could help translate what she needed to explain. When the bracelets were finished every one looked a little different, each an expression of the individuality of the girls.

After the bracelets we brought out sugar cookies for them to decorate. Maggi had made up a batch of dough that morning and Molly brought over cookies she had made. The girls are real artists! They did such complete decorating jobs that I wasn't sure they would be able to eat the cookies with that much frosting on them! They don't have a sweet tooth nearly as developed as mine :)

When the youth girls went home the rest of us finished off the cookies. I was very surprised at how determined Kirstie was at decorating the cookies she had made. It was difficult for her to squeeze the frosting out of the decorating bags but she worked hard squeezing it out little by little, picked the frosting pieces off onto her finger, and then carefully placed it on her cookie in her own design. She probably spent 10 minutes on each cookie! Annie and Ali were also very proud of their cookies. Even Dad enjoyed decorating a few cookies but I think his favorite part was eating them!
