-We talked to Kirstie's preschool teacher and told her she wouldn't be in school on Christmas day.
-On Christmas Eve Allen accompanied me to my 37+ week prenatal check-up and we got to see our baby girl through ultrasound.
-After seeing the doctor we did last minute Christmas Eve shopping in a practically empty shopping mall.
-We saw school children and business workers dressed up in all sorts of costumes in a somewhat confused Christmas/Halloween celebration.
-We spent the evening of Christmas Eve at our house eating yummy hors d'oeuvres and playing Liverpool with Casey and Molly while the kids played together and watched Dora's Christmas Carol.
-The girls went to sleep about 10:00, only Kirstie just pretended to sleep for about half an hour and then snuck out to check if Santa had come yet and put presents under the tree.
-Allen and I cleaned up, wrapped presents, curled ribbons, and then watched part of Jamie Oliver's cooking show before going to bed after midnight.
-Kirstie tapped me on the shoulder around 8:00 am whispering, "Mommy, it's Christmas! Santa came and there are presents under the tree! Come see!"
-We woke Katelin up.
-We listened to our girls' joyful voices as they opened presents. Kirstie often said, "It's just what I always wanted!" and Katelin had to be coaxed to continue on to the next package. Finally we let Kirstie open Katelin's other presents for her.
-Allen made Belgian crepes for breakfast.
-I took a morning nap because I crashed from eating too much chocolate out of my Christmas stocking.
-Strawberries are just in season here so on Christmas afternoon we went with the Bells to a strawberry farm and picked 2 full boxes of berries.
-We drove home in rush hour traffic and the pregnant lady riding in the van had to make us stop to use the bathroom.
-We contributed a ham and homemade bread to go along with steamed veggies and sweet potatoes for Christmas supper at the Bells apartment.
-Casey and Allen went to Starbucks after supper, used "buy one get one free coupons" and brought decaff Toffee Nut Lattes back for the adults.
-We watched a long, booming, spectacular fireworks display in the local park on Christmas night from the Bells' balcony on 10th floor.
-We tried to make our sad and tired 4 year-old feel better about the pink bear that she got for Christmas whose head nearly came off a couple hours after opening. She had been looking forward to sleeping with it every night.
-We watched, "Fred Clause" which we had recorded off of Cable earlier in the week, and filled our already full tummies with our stocking stuffers: Snyders Honey and Onion pretzels, beef jerky, and chocolate.

Cherry, I enjoyed reading about Taiwan Christmas. It makes me smile thinking of you and Molly and your families all celebrating together - in traditional *and* unique ways.
Merry Christmas.
what does that mean " the pregnant lady riding in the van had to make us stop to use the bathroom." ?
Anthea,
That statement was just a silly way to say that I made us stop during busy traffic because I had to go to the bathroom. It was a little embarrassing :)
