Green Tea at the Scooter Shop

Allen took the scooter to the shop for its annual check-up. He always comes back from the scooter guy with an entertaining story. This time was no different. This scooter repair man has been frequented by many Taipei scooter-driving missionaries over the years so we can trust that he won't give us a bad deal in the fix-it shop. Many times when Allen goes there are a group of the repair man's friends hanging out at the shop together. They all look to be somewhere in their 70's. The friends always offer Allen a cigarette and the repair man always jumps in with his explaination that Allen is a missionary and missionaries don't smoke. This time they were all smoking and drinking green tea so they offered him a glass of tea next. Then the question, "Did you come to Taiwan to get a wife?" Allen told them he was married and had 2 kids. When they found out he was from the U.S. they began talking about how they were surprised Hillary didn't divorce Bill. They pointed to one of their friends in the group and said, "He's on wife number 5." Then they told Allen, "You speak Chinese very well. Do you have a Chinese girlfriend?" The repair man piped in again with another explaination about how Allen is a married missionary so it is not okay for him to have a girlfriend. The men pointed to their friend again and commented, "He has 5 girlfriends." The repair man asked Allen which tire option he wanted for the back wheel and Allen told him to put on whichever he thought would be best. The scooter repair man then said, "Well, because your wife is so beautiful you need the best quality tire."
That's what a typical trip to the scooter shop looks like.
