A Gift from our Creator

It has been hard to keep a secret about our precious news, but now that it cannot be hidden behind normal clothes we are ready to make our announcement. We are expecting another baby!

Last Thursday was my 20 week check-up. We took Kirstie with us to the hospital so that she could see the ultrasound during which we would find out if we were having a boy or girl. We had prepared her by explaining what the nurse would do and showed her pictures of previous ultrasounds to help her understand what she would see. At the hospital Kirstie was excited as she pointed out everything we had talked about. She liked hearing the heartbeat and during the ultrasound she announced, "The baby's popping out! The feet are popping out!" whenever it came into view. Even now at home she likes to show Katelin the ultrasound picture and tells her that that is what the baby looks like inside Mommy's tummy. Katelin often points to my rounded tummy and says, "Baby."

Kirstie has always thought the baby was a girl and that after it was born we would name her Katelin, although she also likes the name Flower. She has told us that she wants another sister and she won't be disappointed. We are excited about having three little girls! Our new baby is due on January 11th which also happens to be my birthday. What a wonderful present!
